Malaika Arora swears by her yoga sessions, regularly sharing her inspiring regime on social media. Now, Malaika is back at doing what she does best—”working that core”. Unlike conventional yoga poses done on the mat, Malaika has now blessed us with glimpses of “danda yoga”. Malaika dropped a video on Instagram in which she can be seen pulling off many asanas using a stick. The clip begins with Malaika bending sidewards, with her feet crossing each other and her hands holding a stick up in the air. Next, she places the stick on her waist and bends backwards. The next posture includes her bending forward with her hands in the air. We can also see her attempting the toe crossover exercise. Then Malaika sets her feet apart, bends and places the stick on her shoulders and wraps her arms around it. Danda yoga is a fantastic exercise that uses a stick to leverage gravity for enhanced stretching and posture. It promotes healthy spinal joints and helps correct body alignment.

This isn’t first time that Malaika Arora has tried stick yoga. Before this, Malaika dropped a video in which she confessed that “danda yoga” is her favourite form of exercise. In a clip, she is seen perfecting multiple stretch poses. Sharing the video, Malaika wrote, “Danda yoga is one of my favourite forms of yoga. Here are some reasons why: It’s a fabulous workout to reduce belly fat, especially around your waist. It gives a great stretch to the muscles of the arms, legs and spine. It relaxes the body thoroughly.”
Before this, Malaika Arora shared a video of her morning yoga routine. She began her exercises with an extended triangle pose. She executed it by stretching one leg and placing the foot on the wall, with her arm raised. This particular asana improves posture, and balance, and strengthens the core muscles. The extended triangle pose was followed by usual exercises like planks. In addition, she also aced variations of other asanas including Marjari Asana and Salabhasana that improve core strength and balance.
Needless to say, Malaika Arora is our strongest fitness motivator in the B-Town.
